SimAVIO support title

SimAVIO version 2.0.269 is now available to support the ILS approaches. If you are purchasing the ILS upgrade, you will need SimAVIO version 2.0.269 or later to properly read the new data files.

ATTENTION: SimAVIO version 2.0.171 is now available.  Upgrades are free for 12 months after purchase.  See upgrade instructions below.  If you upgrade SimAVIO, you must also upgrade your add-on panels.  Old panels are not guaranteed to work with the new version of SimAVIO.   Also, an old version of SimAVIO may not work correctly with the new panels.

Network Configuration Options

There are three basic configurations when using SimAVIO.  It can run on the same computer as X-Plane (Option A), or on a separate dedicated computer. (Options B and C).

Click HERE to see a diagram of the network options.

SimAVIO and X-Plane on 1 monitor

This video from Eric shows how to get SimAVIO to "look like" it is running inside X-Plane.  In fact, SimAVIO is just a borderless window with a transparent background that overlays ON TOP of the X-Plane visual.  We also stress the importance of using SimAVIO on a computer with TWO monitors.

Installing and Connecting SimAVIO (new!)

Panel Builder Tutorial (new!)

This video from Eric shows you how to properly uninstall your current version of SimAVIO, and guides you through the process of installing version 1.1.1587. The tutorial includes installation of your X-Plane aircraft and the FTS/X-Plane interface setup. Finally, you will see how to unlock/register SimAVIO, and launch/load a panel while communicating with X-Plane. This video tutorial from Carl shows you how to open, edit and create new instrument panel layouts. He will also demonstrate new features in the Graphical User Interface like sound, keyboard assignments, and button preferences.  You must upgrade to version 1.1.1587 or newer to enable these capabilities.

Request an upgrade

Upgrades are available for FREE upon request for the first year after your original purchase date.    FTS is constantly improving our software, as we find bugs and enhance the functionality.

If you receive notifications that upgrades are available, return to the email with the download link that was provided to you when you first purchased.  These links are updated with the latest files.  If you lost your email, send a request to support@flythissim.com for a replacement email.

Reissuing a license, or moving your software license to a new computer

The software activation and licensing process uses your computer's MAC address to identify your computer.  FTS products cannot be activated on more than one computer with a single license.  There may be cases where a customer must move their FTS license to a different machine.  Alternately, there may be a case where a license is removed from the current machine and the key code is lost.  In these circumstances, FTS needs to issue you a new activation code.   Please read our documentation for instructions on how to remove the license off your old computer, then email FTS support to request a new activation code.

System Requirements

    • MINIMUM Windows Experience Index

NOTE: Due to the graphic memory intensive nature of SimAVIO, it may be the only application capable of running on your PC. In some cases, even though your computer meets the minimum PC requirements, the simulator may not function properly. This is due to the unique configuration of each computer and the extra processes and procedures that are utilized by that computer.
